Travel’s Coming back!

Vacation Industry Review recently shared the following information with our staff:

A member sentiment study conducted in April indicated that more than 60 percent of Interval members worldwide either have a future vacation booked or are currently researching vacation options.

And within the next six months, nearly 75 percent are extremely likely, very likely, or somewhat likely to travel.

Other significant findings suggest a positive attitude toward travel in general. When asked how they felt about traveling in the future, two-thirds anticipated that they would travel the same amount as they had always traveled — or even more.

The results also touched on travel behaviors. For example, nearly half of members surveyed responded that because of COVID-19, travel to a drive-to destination is more appealing.

The survey results provide “promising news during an uncertain period, and reinforces our industry’s resilience,” according to Marcos Agostini, Interval’s executive vice president of global business development.

“The results indicate that we could see travel activity pick up by the fall.”
